Privacy Policy

How LawCast collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use the app, website and related services.

Current editionUpdated 19 September 2026
Before you readThis policy distinguishes information kept on your device from information sent to online services. Some processing depends on whether you sign in, consent or enable a feature.

1. Summary

  • Some reading, listening, bookmark, note, playlist and position data remains on your device.
  • You may use basic features as a Guest and sign in when you want sync or account features.
  • Apple and RevenueCat process purchases and subscriptions.
  • AI features send information needed to process your request online.
  • The current app configuration does not request iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission or use the IDFA advertising identifier; analytics and campaign measurement have separate in-app choices.
  • The static website has no accounts, forms, advertising or behavioral analytics in its code.
  • We do not sell personal information.

2. Information we process

On-device data: The app may store bookmarks, notes, playlists, recently opened items, reading or listening positions, preferences and your own recordings. Data kept only on your device is not sent to us merely because the app stores it.

Accounts and sync: When you sign in, we process authentication information, an account ID and data you choose to sync. Notes are not end-to-end encrypted.

Purchases: Apple and RevenueCat process product, receipt, transaction, entitlement and restore information. We do not receive your full payment-card number from Apple.

Analytics and diagnostics: When you enable the relevant choices, the app may send usage events, pseudonymous installation identifiers, general device information, crash reports and install-source information through Firebase or AppsFlyer. Notes, searches and email addresses are not sent to Analytics.

3. Campaign measurement and tracking permission

The current app configuration uses AppsFlyer Strict, disables IDFA and IDFV collection, does not request iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission, and configures AppsFlyer not to share data with advertising partners. AppsFlyer campaign measurement starts only when you enable “Help measure campaigns” in the app. Upgraded devices may keep this measurement paused to avoid sending legacy queued data.

Firebase usage analytics and crash reports have separate controls. If you enable usage analytics, the app may link purchase and renewal information from RevenueCat to its Analytics instance ID for measurement. Turning it off stops new collection and requests removal of the link, but cannot recall data already sent; server-side changes may wait for a successful sync.

Apple Ads attribution through RevenueCat and necessary transaction data operate separately from the Firebase and AppsFlyer choices, without requesting ATT. Not requesting ATT does not mean the app performs no measurement of its own advertising or processes no account-linked data.

4. Website and contact

The website does not set cookies, use localStorage or sessionStorage, or embed Firebase, AppsFlyer or app SDKs. Hosting and network providers may process IP address, access time, requested pages and browser information to deliver and secure the website.

If you contact us, we receive what you choose to send, such as your name, email, issue details and screenshots. Do not send passwords, OTPs, payment-card details or confidential case documents. The support copy button operates on your device and sends nothing to us.

5. AI processing

When you use an AI feature, a request may include the legal text or content you are viewing, your question or prompt, learning context and technical information needed to operate the feature. Requests pass through LawCast infrastructure to the configured AI provider to generate a response.

Do not include unnecessary personal, confidential or third-party information. Saved output may remain on your device or sync with your account according to the feature you choose.

6. How we use information

  • Provide accounts, sync, purchases, restored access and selected features.
  • Process AI requests and return results.
  • Protect the service, prevent fraud, troubleshoot and improve performance.
  • Analyze use and measure campaigns when enabled and permitted.
  • Respond to support and data-rights requests.
  • Comply with law and platform requirements.

Processing relies on an appropriate legal basis, such as performing a contract, complying with law, legitimate interests or consent, depending on the activity.

7. Providers, sharing and transfers

Depending on the feature, providers may include Apple for distribution and purchases, RevenueCat for entitlements, Supabase for accounts and sync, Firebase for infrastructure, analytics or issue reporting, AppsFlyer for attribution, and an AI provider for requests you send.

We disclose information only as needed to provide and protect the service, comply with law or support a business transaction with appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal information or share it with data brokers. Some providers may process information abroad under safeguards required by law.

8. Retention and security

  • On-device data: remains until you remove it with app controls, clear data or uninstall the app.
  • Account and sync data: remains while the account is provided, then is deleted or de-identified subject to legal limits.
  • Purchase data: is retained as needed for transactions, restoration, fraud prevention and legal duties.
  • Analytics, logs and contact data: are retained only as needed for security, analysis, troubleshooting, support and legal compliance.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no system can guarantee absolute security.

9. Choices, deletion and your rights

You may use Guest mode, manage iOS permissions, manage subscriptions through your Apple Account, export or clear on-device data, and delete your LawCast account in the app. See Data & Account Deletion. Account deletion does not cancel a subscription or erase records a provider must retain for law or transactions.

Subject to law, you may request access, a copy, correction, deletion, portability or restriction; object to processing; withdraw consent; and complain to a competent authority. We may verify your identity and ask for information needed to locate a record.

10. Children and policy updates

LawCast is for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. If a parent or guardian believes a child provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

We may update this policy when features, providers, law or data practices change. We will revise the update date and give additional app or website notice when a change is material.
